UKRAINE: EXTENSION OF TEMPORARY PROTECTION TO THIRD-COUNTRY NATIONALS AND STATELESS INDIVIDUALS |
|
|
Dear ,
On 11 March 2022, the Council of Ministers passed Resolution no. 29-D/2022, which broadened the scope of the temporary protection granted by the Council of Ministers Resolution no. 29-A/2022, of 1 March, to persons fleeing the war in Ukraine.
This temporary protection extended the automatic granting of a one-year residence permit (with the possibility of renewal), foreseen in the Council of Ministers Resolution no. 29-A/2022, of 1 March, to other third-country nationals or stateless individuals benefiting from international protection in Ukraine, who arrived from Ukraine and are unable to return due to the war.
This scheme will therefore be also available to third-country nationals or stateless individuals who have their permanent residence in Ukraine, who hold a temporary residence permit, or have been granted a long-stay visa for the purpose of obtaining such permit, and who are unable to return safely and permanently to their country of origin.
Check the applicable regime and the benefits granted under the temporary protection regime in our newsletter from March 2nd, accessible HERE.
